ISRO museum Ahmedabad or Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition is one of the finest museums in Gujarat about Space, Science and ISRO’s journey. If you want to increase the curiosity about the space program in your kids or yourself. Must visit this museum once in a life. This museum contains the journey & contribution of Dr Vikram Sarabhai, ISRO and Current Programs.

About My Experience
Before 3 years, my son (3 years) had seen the rocket while we were passing through the Jodhpur Tekra as it’s our daily route. Every day we halt for 1 – 2 mins to see Rocket. But we understood it as part of the ISRO Ahmedabad only and it’s not allowed for the common man. As there was no board for it.
I have researched about it and I have found that its an Exhibition and everyone can visit it is FREE. During the lockdown, it remained closed. And re-opened after a long time. Starting in 2022, I wish to bring my son (6 years) there and show this rocket very close.
Finally, I have made a plan and visited it in July 2022. When we entered we have seen the Rocket models, Globe, Satellite model, Murals and Statue of Vikram Sarabhai. I have surprised to see that, ISRO Museum is FREE of cost. Mask was compulsory during my visit but we did not bring it with us. So they provided us mask for Rs. 5. Also, keep all bags, and water bottles outside the gate. I registered my name and mobile and finally, we entered the Museum.
Inside the museum, there are many sections which have given below. Each section was interesting and showcased the planets, various satellites, history, Dr Vikram Sarabhai and many more. We spent almost 1 hr in the museum.
My son has increased his curiosity after the visit and he started to ask questions like What is the purpose of the satellite? Can I create my own satellite? Why satellite not appear? How satellite capture the photos? Why satellite wrapped like a gift box? Can I seat in a rocket? Where I can see a live rocket aeroplane? I loved to give him answers to each question. Also, he started observing google map and now related it to the satellite.
At last, we left the museum with new learning. He shared all-new learned things with her mom & grandparents and made the satellite at home from the box with his mother’s help.
I definitely suggest you bring your kids there while visiting the Sundarvan which is just 100 meters away.

3D / 2D TV shows the ISRO Journey and history along with audiovisuals. Its 10 mins duration and FREE of Cost
Augmented Reality (AR) Section
AR Sections allow you to move the orbit and satellite with your hand and show the impact of the movement.
GSLV Animation
GSLV Rocket animation gives the live demo of the satellite launches from the top section.
Kids Section
The kid’s section has the Slides with Rocket, Mars module and Large space posters to give fun to kids.
Interactive Bhuvan
There are many interactive sections including the GSLV and the weight on the different planets.
Flight Suits
Real flight suits where you can take photographs by entering in that.

Monday Closed
There are 2D and 3D Shows of 10 mins. When we visited, the 3D show was not operational. 2D Shows timings are given as follows. Its duration is 10 minutes. It’s Free

Tips
- Wear a mask, it’s compulsory. If you forgot the mask, you can take it from the counter at Rs.5.
- Do not bring large luggage as it is not allowed inside so you have to keep it outside
- Parking has limited space so go on 2 wheeler.
- Generally, visitors take 1 hr to visit this
- The ideal age for the museum is to 8 years and above.

ISRO Museum or Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition (VSSE) is located inside the ISRO Ahmedabad. It is just opposite Bhavnirzar Temple on the Jodhpur Tekra. It is easily accessible.
