  4. Vaishnav Devi Temple – Beautiful artificial mountain developed. You have to go through by walk.
  5. Tri Mandir (Temple) -It is near Adalaj. The large white temple. Sunday it is crowded with lots of devotees.
  6. Adalaj Vav (Stepwell) – 19 Km – The stepwell, Is beautifully carved. The AMC has developed a large garden, lake and Toran cafeteria around. Which is also a good place for a picnic and to spare some time with the beloved one.

East of Ahmedabad (places to visit in Ahmedabad)

  1. Kankaria Area – It is located in Maninagar. This place is a beautiful circular lake. It is full of fun and a good picnic spot. It will take a minimum of 4-5 hours if you want to enjoy the full fun of this area. The government organized the Kankaria Carnival every year from the 25th of December to the 31st of December Which includes lots of cultural programs, water laser shows, fireworks, races, paintings and other events.   2. Ravivari Bazaar – Sunday open only. (Location: Below the Ellisbridge) The government has developed this market and vehicles are allowed to go to the market which was not possible before. People who are looking for antique items and old second-hand things must have to visit there once.
  3. Jagannath Temple – Famous Jagannath temple. Rathyatra begins from this temple. Rathyatra is the biggest event in the old walled city.

North of Ahmedabad (places to visit in Ahmedabad)

  1. Sabarmati Ashram (Gandhi Ashram) & Dandi Bridge
  2. Camp’s Hanuman Temple
  3. Shahi Baug
  4. Sardar Patel Memorial is – Beautiful place with a Garden in memory of the Sardar Patel. This was the palace built by Mughal Shahjahan on the riverbank of Sabarmati. It is renovated and converted into a museum by AMC.
  5. Riverfront Shahibaug – The Big Garden and picnic place with a nice view of the River Sabarmati. The entry fee is 10 Rs.
  6. Riverfront Usmanpura – The big garden on the opposite side of the Riverfront Shahibaug, the new place for picnic and relaxation. 10 Rs charge for adult.
  7. Calico museum – Ahmedabad was once called Manchester of India due to a number of textile mills. The first textile mill was the calico which is founded by the father of Scientist Dr Vikram Sarabhai. The textile journey of Ahmedabad mentioned very well in the Calico museum
  8. Daada hari Vav (Stepwell) Asarva
  9. Mini Kankaria – A newly created lake which is located in Naroda on the Dehgam Road. It is 11 km far from the Ahmedabad Railway station. It has a garden, kids’ fun activities, and boating facilities. It is worth visiting.

West and South of Ahmedabad

  1. Patang Hotel – Revolving Restaurant which will give you a full view of Sabarmati river and riverfront and old and new city. It rotates 360 Degree in 1 hour. Must take lunch/dinner here to enjoy an aerial view
  2. Hussain Doshi’s Gufa (cave)- It’s the art of Expert Architecture B.V.Doshi and Artist M.F.Hussain. This artificial cave is located inside the University area and near CEPT which has unique architecture
  3. Law garden – Happy Street
  4. C.G.Road
  5. Vastrapur lake
  6. Swaminarayan Museum Naranpura
  7. Drive-In Theatre
  8. Sundarvan – Mini Zoo
  9. Bhav Nirzar – Small Temple on the Jodhpur Tekra (opposite Sundarvan). You can see a panoramic view of north Ahmedabad from here
  10. Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition – Next to Sundarvan, you can visit the VSSE museum which is very good to see if you are enthused in science and space. Vikram Sarabhai was born and brought up in Ahmedabad and founded ISRO. So in ISRO, you can see this space exhibition.
  11. Vishala Restaurant & Utensils Museum – Vintage and very popular hotels. Vishala provides authentic food in Gujarat. Food is prepared by the traditional women in the hotel. Also, the ambience of the Hotel displayed a small village. It is good to see in the morning and night. The night they use lanterns instead of lights.
  12. NC Mehta Museum of Miniatures – It has excellent examples of the various schools of Indian miniature painting. The building was designed by Le Corbusier, A famous architect. Open Tuesday to Saturday. From 9 to 11am and 4 to 7 pm.
  13. Shreyas Folk Museum – It is 2.5 km west of Sabarmati in the suburb of Ambdavadi, Displays the folk arts and crafts of Gujarat. It is open daily from 9 am to noon and 3 to 5 except Wednesday.

    Almost all the information related to Ahmedabad is listed here but I would love to see how it looks. Have you published photographs of such places?

    Note: I have marked one website here http://www.theindia.co.in/cities/places-to-visit-in-ahmedabad publishing actual photographs of the places but I could find limited places around Ahmedabad there.
