Based on my personal experience, I have figured out a few places which are tourist places around 50 km from Ahmedabad. I have covered 1-day picnic places from Ahmedabad which is generally covers 150 km to 180 Kms. Generally under 100 km is good for a two-wheeler and above that, it is not accommodated to go on a bike due to the long distance.
I have tried to cover all places till 200 km from Ahmedabad. I have mentioned km in front of each place so you can schedule accordingly
1 – Thol Lake (30 Kms) & Kanjari Deer Park (40 Kms) Route
Thol Lake (30 Kms)
Thol lake is thol bird sanctuary. Boating is not allowed here but the atmosphere of this lake is Fresh and Awesome. Most people used to go in the early morning and evening to see a number of cranes.
Kanjari Deer Park (40 Kms)
Kanzari is the village near the Thol Bird Sanctuary. There is no specific entry gate or border for this deer park. You need to go into the bush and search for the Deers. Even you can find it on road.
2 – Gandhinagar (30 km) – Pratij Route (75 Kms)

Gandhinagar is most favourite and nearest Picnic spot from Ahmedabad Gandhinagar Tourist Attractions – Gandhinagar is 30 km from Ahmedabad. It has a very lush green environment and many places to visit

- Indroda Park / Zoo – This Zoo has miniatures of dinosaurs. Also has animals like deer, lions, tigers, reptiles and birds. Its too huge a park and need time to watchfully

- Swarnim Park – Mahatma Mandir – Central Vista Garden – Long 4 km garden for relaxing.
- Adalaj Stepwell – It is in the middle of the Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar and very ancient Stepwell.

5+ places to see around. Good for all ages and family or friends. You can enjoy a full day in Gandhinagar and Akshardham. The best time to visit is during the monsoon or after that. Monday Akshardham Remained close so plan accordingly.
Mahakali Vad (60 Kms)
Mahakali vad (Banyan Tree) is located between Gandhinagar and pratij. This vad is considered the second largest after Kabirvad in Gujarat. Click on View In Details button to read in detail.
Galteshwar Pratij (75 Kms)
Galteshwar is a good temple near Pratij. The main reason for this place is the riverbed. You can enjoy the real Kotar around the Riverbed and enjoy the real beauty of the Sabarmati river.
3 – Dehgam – Zanzari (70 Kms) Route
Zanzari waterfall is situated on the Rocky zone of river Vatrak. It is 70 km from Ahmedabad. From Dehgam, take a turn towards Bayad the road is narrow but worth going it. There is limited transportation and food available so prefer to keep a private vehicle and food for you and your family. From the parking area around 1 to 2 km you have to go walk to reach the falls. The road is rocky.
It’s a really nice place to visit. On Sundays and holidays, it remains crowded. There are a lot of peacocks you can find near the parking area. We had seen approx 20 peacocks at the same place.
4 – Siddhi Vinayak Mandir – Mahemdabad (45 Kms)
This is good for the religious tour. Sidhhi Vinayak mandir is Ganesh Ji temple near Mahemdabad temple. It’s around 40 Kms.
5 – Arnej temple, Ganpatipura Temple (68 Kms)
This is also one of the religious tours but this can cover if you travel to Nalsarovar, Lothal or Velavadar blackbuck sanctuary. Arnej is the temple of the Devi Butbhavani and Ganeshpura (Koth) is the Ganeshji’s temple. Both places are very popular among the devotees. 6 – Matar – Pariyej (60 Kms)
Matar Pariyej is located on the road from Nadiad to Khambhat. It is a narrow road and wetlands side on the road. After Matar, you can see various birds on the left side. Later on, you will see the Pariyej wetland board where you can go to the watchtower to see a big shallow lake. where you can spare some time in the interpretation centre.

7 – Sanand – Bavla – Nalsarovar Lake (60 Kms)
Nalsarovar is a paradise for the bird watcher and well place for a picnic. The best time to visit is November to March. Early morning and evening is the best time to visit there. 8 – Balasinor Dinosaur Museum / Fossil Park (90 Kms)
If you or your child loves the dinosaurs. This is must-see memorable tour for you. Dinosaur Fossil Park is one the best experience for you to go back 6.5 Million years. It is considered the Jurrasic Park of India. From in 1980-1990 there were 10,000 eggs of dinosaurs found in this area and considered the second largest hatchery in the world after France. 10 – Modhera – Patan – Sidhpur – Palanpur Route
This is a really historical route and it will bring back the 1000 years when Patan was the capital of Gujarat and one of the wealthy cities of the World in the time of King Kumarpal and Siddhraj Jaysinh
There are 2 routes which you can cover because all places can’t cover in 1 day.

11 – Taranga – Ambaji Route (Places from 30 to 169 Kms)
Ahmedabad – Taranga – Ambaji Route This interesting hilly route has many interesting places. Which you can enjoy throughout. The following places will cover :
To complete all the places in 1 day is not possible. I have mentioned the time required for each place so you can schedule and plan a 1-day trip. If you take a night stay at Ambaji or Taranga, you can cover all places in 1 night and 2 days tours. It kind of weekend tour

Swapna Shrushti Water Park (52 Kms)
This waterpark is a good option in Summer (March to July). You can easily spend 4 to 6 hours here. It has Many Rides and activities
Mahudi – 67 Km
Mahudi is Jain’s Pilgrim place and many devotees used to go regularly on Sundays and months of Paryushan. It is famous for Hot Sukhdi Prasad (Sweet Prasad). Many Hindus who are not Jains also used to go there and pray to god and take sukhdi prasad. Generally, people spend 30 mins to 1 hour
Sapteshwar Temple – 90 Kms
Sapeshwar Temple is a shiv temple with kund. It is a beautiful location. Good for a bath in River. 2 to 3 hours if you have planned to take bath in the river.

Amarnath Dham – 53 Kms
There is a 5 feet high ‘shiv-ling’ (ICE-LINGAM) of pure ice. The pious ice lingam of Amarnath Dham is available for worship throughout the year. It has caves of 12 Jyotirling of India.
Tirupati Rushivan – 74 Kms
Tirupati Rushivan is a fun park for all kinds of age groups. It is located in between Vijapur and Himmatnagar
Facilities: Rides, Zoo, Food, Waterpark. Good for: All Age. It may take 5 to 6 hours to enjoy park fully.
Taranga Hill – 128 Kms
Taranga hill is a beautiful hill with 1000+ years old Jain Temple. It is having 5 km drive to reach on the hill. The view from the hill is breathtaking. You can spend 1 to 2 hours there.
Ambaji – 169 Kms
Ambaji is one of the shaktipeeth of India. The temple on the Gabbar hill is having ropeway. Which may take 1 to 2 hours.
